In short: You may host normal lawful websites, applications and services that fit the technical limits of your plan. Use must not break UK law, harm other customers or infrastructure, or conflict with the current Virgo Networks terms and acceptable-use requirements.
Examples of prohibited use
- Illegal content or activity.
- Child sexual abuse material or other unlawful sexual content.
- Material that unlawfully incites violence, terrorism, hatred or discrimination.
- Malware, credential theft, unauthorised scanning or attempts to compromise systems.
- Unsolicited bulk email, abusive messaging or deliberate evasion of anti-spam controls.
- Activity that materially disrupts the platform, network or services used by others.
- Public free-hosting or free-mail services on shared or reseller products unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Resource and technical limits
A workload may be lawful but unsuitable for a particular service. Shared hosting, for example, does not provide root access and is designed for ordinary hosted websites and mailboxes. Sustained high-resource applications, custom daemons, specialist network services or software requiring administrator access may need a VPS or dedicated server.
Ask before deploying
If you are uncertain about content, licensing, expected traffic, mail volume, security testing or a technically unusual workload, contact us before ordering or deploying it. Describe what the service does, the expected resources and who will use it. We would much rather help select an appropriate platform in advance.
