In short: Datacentre visits are by prior arrangement. Open a Datacentre support ticket with the visitor, timing and work details, and wait for confirmation before travelling.
Request access
Provide:
- The colocation service, rack or equipment identifier.
- Each visitor's full name and organisation.
- The purpose and exact scope of work.
- Preferred date, arrival time and expected duration.
- Whether equipment will enter or leave the site.
- An authorised customer contact available during the visit.
Wait for confirmation
A proposed time is not an approved visit. Virgo Networks will confirm availability, location-specific instructions, identification requirements and any escort or security arrangements.
Prepare the work
- Back up affected systems and notify users of possible interruption.
- Bring agreed tools, parts, labels and console equipment.
- Document cabling and equipment state before changing it.
- Plan a rollback and allow time for service verification.
Access is scoped: Visitors may work only on the approved customer equipment and task. Do not move shared infrastructure, other customers' equipment or unapproved cabling.
At the datacentre
Bring valid photographic identification and follow all security, escort and safety instructions. Report unexpected damage, labelling uncertainty or a required scope change before proceeding.
After the visit
Confirm power, networking, monitoring and application health. Update the ticket with work completed, parts removed and any remaining fault.
