Are Virgo Networks services IPv6 ready? Print

In short: Yes. Virgo Networks services are designed to support both IPv4 and IPv6. The exact setup depends on whether DNS and the server are managed for you.

Shared and reseller hosting

When the domain uses Virgo Networks nameservers, the required hosting records are normally managed in the same SiteWorx account. Check that the website has both an A and AAAA record and that HTTPS covers every hostname you publish.

VPS, dedicated and colocated services

IPv6 addresses alone do not make an application reachable. Configure the operating system, routing, service listeners and firewall rules, then test from an external IPv6 network before publishing DNS.

DNS hosted elsewhere

Create an AAAA record for each hostname that should use IPv6, using the address assigned to the actual service. Do not copy an address from another host or guess it from an IPv4 address.

Need help? Include the domain, hostname, expected IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and the result of any connectivity test in your support ticket.
