In short: Shared and reseller hosting includes automatic hourly backups and self-service recovery options. Backups are designed for recovery, but you should also keep an independent copy of any business-critical data.
Restore an automatic backup
- Sign in to SiteWorx.
- Open the backup or recovery option shown in your account.
- Select the required recovery point and the files, database or other content to restore.
- Review the selection carefully, then start the restore.
- Test the website or mailbox when the restore completes.
The exact recovery points available depend on retention and successful backup completion. If the required option or recovery point is not shown, open a technical-support ticket before making further changes.
Create your own SiteWorx backup
Where enabled for your account, go to Backups > Backup Now. InterWorx can create:
- Full backups, containing the complete SiteWorx account. A full restore must be performed by an administrator.
- Partial backups, containing selected website, email or database data.
- Structure-only backups, containing account configuration but not the underlying website files, messages or database contents.
Download important backups and store them somewhere independent of the hosting account. A backup kept only inside the same account is not a complete disaster-recovery plan.
When requesting help
Tell us the domain, what needs restoring, the approximate date and time of the known-good copy, and whether current data must be preserved first.
