In short: Shared and reseller hosting includes MariaDB, a widely used database server with strong compatibility with MySQL clients and applications.
Check the version in use
The database release may change as we apply supported platform updates. To check the version currently serving your account:
- Sign in to SiteWorx.
- Go to Hosting Features > MySQL > phpMyAdmin.
- Look for the server-version information on the phpMyAdmin home page.
Databases and users
You can create databases and database users under Hosting Features > MySQL. SiteWorx prefixes their names with the account's system username. Give each application its own user and only the permissions it needs.
If you need version confirmation
If phpMyAdmin is unavailable, or a migration depends on a particular feature, open a support ticket with the domain and application requirements before importing production data.
