In short: Invite each person as their own Client Area user and grant only the permissions they need. Do not share the account owner's password or two-factor authentication.
Users and contacts
A user signs in and can be associated with the customer account. Contact records hold communication and billing details. Depending on the permissions available, a user may be allowed to view services, invoices, domains or support tickets.
Invite a user
- Sign in as the account owner.
- Open the account menu and choose User Management.
- Select Invite New User.
- Enter the person's email address.
- Select only the permissions required for their role.
- Send the invitation and ask them to enable two-factor authentication.
Review access regularly
- Use separate users for finance, technical staff and external contractors.
- Remove access when a role or supplier relationship ends.
- Check who owns the account before removing or replacing the owner.
- Keep at least one current authorised route for urgent billing and service notices.
If User Management is unavailable
The feature may be restricted or your current user may not be the owner. Contact Virgo Networks from an authorised address and explain the access required.
Further guidance
See the WHMCS guide to managing users.
Account and domain records are separate
An authorised Client Area user is not automatically the account owner or the registered holder of a domain. Billing contacts and domain registry contacts are also separate. Before changing details, read How do I change account, billing or domain contact details?.
